Just a few weeks away! Many of your were following along last year as I got the garden ready for my daughter Madeline’s wedding. And now only a year later we are preparing for Jenny’s walk down the ailse. It is exciting, but not drama free. They are twins after all, so this wedding has to be “just as good” but also “totally different!” No big deal, right?
Maddie’s theme was Blue and White in the garden and I worked hard to stretch our budget to make it look spectacular without making Jamie sweat over the bill. There really is so much you can do to make a wedding, or any event, look special if you have time and maybe a little help from friends and family (I had a lot of help!)
For Maddie’s dinner receptiopn, I designed a dreamy floating dispay of greens
and candles to hover of the main table. It looked like something out a magazine! and it looked expensive. In truth, it was constructed for a few hundred dollars and you can do it too! Check out my post here on how I did it.
For Jenny, I needed to design something that would dazzle our guests again, but have a totally different look, because my twins are sooooo different. Jenny’s theme is more of a speak-easy, swanky vibe. This time, I’m working on creating giant homemade chandeliers out of regular, inexpenevie items. I’ll post a how-to if I can get it to work in time.
In the meantime, Jamie is doing a lot of weeding and I am doing a lot of strategizing on how to hang decor that doesn’t affect the structure and support of the tent. I feel like I have a lot of ladder time in my future. Stay tuned!
