Cape Gooseberry and Thai Lime Basil Margarita
Sweet and citrus-y cocktail fun!
Equipment
- Muddler
Ingredients
- 6 oz Tequila
- 4 oz St. Germaine
- 8 tbsp fresh squeezed lime juice
- 30 Cape Gooseberries (plus 8 more for garnish)
- 20 sprigs Thai lime basil (plus 4 with stem for garnish)
Instructions
- Cut the gooseberries in half and toss in a medium mixing bowl
- Chop 20 sprigs of basil and add to mixing bowl
- Muddle berries and basil
- Add 6 oz of tequila (flavor is better developed if you let this sit for an hour but not necessary!)
- Add St Germain and lime juice
- Mix well and divide into 4 glasses filled with ice
- Using a toothpick, poke a hole in the berries and then push the stem of a sprig of basil through two of the berries for a beautiful garnish. Enjoy!
